The Ex Factor

See I know what we’ve got to do.

You let go, and I’ll let go too.

‘Cause no one’s hurt me more than you,

And no one ever will.

– Lauryn Hill, The Ex-Factor

Soo about last night…

I recently listened to Jay-Z’s newest project 4:44 and after listening to it countless times I had a conversation with a friend of mine about it.  The conversation ended up surrounding the “4:44” track and breakups and how difficult the one she recently went through.  So much of what she was saying made so much sense and before long it seemed like I was reading her mind because the things I had been through that I was describing to her were so similar to what she was experiencing.  The conversation troubled me for a while.  I mean I couldn’t stop thinking about the fact that what we discussed was so common.  I casually did what I usually do in moments like those and started to tweet.  The more I said, the more I wanted to say and in little time, a thread was born.  I’m not going to talk too much about it because it’s long enough and honestly, it speaks for itself.  You can view the Storify of the thread here.

4:44, the 13th studio album from Shawn “Jay-Z” Carter can be found on Tidal.
